The Heron 'an affordable way of getting into sailing and staying'
The Heron is a small dinghy that offers unrivalled family pleasure.
First sailed in Australia in the late 1950s,
the Heron has introduced 1000's upon 1000's of people to
sailing. The Heron is ideal for learning and cruising, but the fleet also
boasts close and competitive racing amongst some of Australia's top
sailors.

New Owners or prospective owners NOTE
HERON TRADING DAY will be back
either end of October or the 1st weekend in Novemebr
Also SAHSA will be organising "Fleet Days " for practising larger fleet starts,
particularly for those heading to Perth Nationals in December 2012,
SAHSA is also organising a container to ship boats over to WA for the Titles,
several spots already confirmed

declare your interest to a committee member now for the coming season!
The SAHeron Sailing Asscn invites any Youth sailor to grab an
"A" class Heron and enter..its free,
Please encourage any Youth sailor (any class) to nominate,
All they have to do is ‘borrow’ an ‘A’ class Heron,
also don’t forget the ‘Youth/Adult’ category
And NOMINATION is “free of charge”

10-11 March SYC - "Two very good days of sailing!"
With a fabulous Dinner BYO salads were highly appreciated, Thanks to Peter and Margaret and the rest of the gallery crew,
also to the on water crews!
Well the series was taken out by Richard Gibson and Hannah Lees,in "Flaw Show 10232"
though with a little help from BJ, 'congratulations!'

January 2012 Lake MacQuarie YC NSW hosted the 53rd National Titles

NHSAA, commisioned the re-configuration of the master plug by a SA Grp builder Andrew Baker,
which was completed during 2009 2010.
From the new boat mould 3 boats had been constructed, and 2 of these competed in the 51st Nats at LArgs
so watch these pages, as the boats that are being replaced will be posted for sale!
The new builder is currently completing his 1st boat commissioned by NHSAA details will be listed in "boats and bits page !!"
Please consider taking on a role to support the Heron class and working towards
future events.
SA will host the 58th Nationals in abt 6 years from now, and Pt Lincoln YC is being considered as the venue.

For a nominal fee for the season you could be sailing a fibreglass Heron dinghy.
For further information/conditions, please contact
the Association on 8357 4202 if you are interested in leasing a boat
during the 2012/13 season. Forms available soon........

Stitch and Glue built Herons
build your own with this easier method
- The SA Heron Association has a jig available for stitch and
glue Heron construction. This is available to members (foc) to assist them with
the construction of their new Heron (conditions apply). Contact the Association for more
information. We have several on the water and they have and are proving their 'metal'.
